Christmas Cut-Out Cookies

Christmas Cut-Out Cookies are the perfect way to celebrate the holidays tastefully. Everyone loves a rich, buttery cookie decorated with holiday cheer ...adults and kids alike!
Servings 72

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tbsp whole milk
  • 2 Nature's Yoke eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cup flour (scant)
  • dash of salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • Colored sugars, edible glitter and nonpareils

Frosting

  • 4 cup Dominos powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp light corn syrup, optional (to add a shine to the frosting)
  • gel food coloring

Instructions
 

Cookies

  • Cream sugar and butter together in a mixing bowl. Add milk, eggs and vanilla.
  • Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture one cup at a time, mixing well. Chill several hours.
  • Roll out dough on a well floured surface to desired thickness (1/4"). Cut out with Christmas cookie cutters of your choice. Transfer to baking sheet. Bake at 375 F. for 8-10 minutes. Cool completely. Decorate cookies with frosting and colored sugars.

Frosting

  • Add milk and vanilla to powdered sugar. Mix well. Add corn syrup, if desired. Set aside small amounts and add desired food coloring to each.
