Chocolate Lovers' Cake

Fittingly named, Chocolate Lovers' Cake gets some of its sweetness from a bottle of chocolate syrup.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 Nature's Yoke Eggs
  • 1 (16 oz) Hershey's Chocolate Syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Fudge Frosting

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Mix dry ingredients together.
  • In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Add dry ingredients alternately with chocolate syrup to egg mixture. Add vanilla and mix well.
  • Pour batter into a greased 9×13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 45-50 minutes.

Frosting

  • Combine all ingredient,s except vanilla, in saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat with spoon until thick. Cool a little and then spread on cake.
