Soft Pretzels with Homemade Honey Mustard Sauce
Craving Auntie Anne's? Why not make your own soft pretzels? This recipe is super simple and the results are super delicious!
- 1 tbsp yeast
- 1 cup + 2 T. warm water
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 Natures Yoke egg
- 1 tsp water
- Kosher salt
Soda Water
- 2 cup warm water
- 2 tsp baking soda
Honey Mustard Sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- cayenne pepper, sprinkled
Soft Pretzels
Combine first 5 ingredients. Knead for five minutes to form soft dough. Cover and let rise for 5-10 minutes.
While dough is rising, make soda water by combining warm water and soda in a bowl. Set aside. In a separate bowl, whisk egg and 1 tsp. water together. Set aside.
Divide dough into 16 pieces. Roll out each piece of dough into a 14-inch rope. Make a U-shape with the rope, holding the ends of the rope, cross them over each other and press onto the bottom of the U in order to form the shape of a pretzel.
Dip pretzels into soda water. Place on greased cookie sheet. Brush with egg wash. Sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake at 400 F. for 10-12 minutes.
