Why Plastic

If you’re on this page, it means you purchased a plastic carton of our Nature’s Yoke eggs. You’re probably wondering why your favorite eggs have gone from being in an eco-friendly, recycled pulp or cardboard carton to a carton made of plastic. Is Nature’s Yoke backtracking?

The short answer is, no. Nature’s Yoke is not returning to plastic cartons.

This is a temporary change. Due to COVID-19, there has been a disruption in the supply chain and Nature’s Yoke has been forced to temporarily put our eggs in recycled plastic cartons.

While not the pulp cartons that do well for our planet — the ones we know and love — these plastic cartons will serve as a good intermedium. They are made from 100% recycled plastic and depending on your location can be re-recycled or re-used once you are done using them!

If you are unable to find a way to recycle or re-use your empty plastic cartons, please send them to us so that we can dispose of them properly. Put them in a box and ship them to Nature’s Yoke at 165 North Shirk Road New Holland, PA 17557.

We appreciate you, our Nature’s Yoke family, bearing with us during this small season of change. It won’t be long before our pulp & cardboard cartons are back to replace these interim plastic cartons. But in the meantime, let’s continue to connect with and savor everything that matters most to us!
